Hilary Duff Joins Dick Clark for New Year's Eve

Longtime New Year's Eve staple Dick Clark will return to his infamous hosting of his Time Square broadcast. Clark has hosted the event since 1972, but was sidelined last year after suffering a stroke in December 2004.

However, this year, Clark is being flanked by Ryan Seacrest (American Idol) and the beautiful Hilary Duff.


While Clark's 'Rockin New Year's Eve' is a New York City celebration in Times Square, Duff will report on Hollywood parties as well as perform three songs. The rest of the performers during the 3 1/2-hour broadcast will be announced at a later date.

Duff will also introduce some of today's hottest musical artists. Clark and Seacrest will report "live" on the festivities in New York, including the final minutes of the year 2005 with the traditional Times Square ball drop and countdown to midnight.

Lindsay Lohan One Night Stand in Miami

Lindsay Lohan is surrounded by rumors, which is ironically, the title of her freshman album.

Luckily for her fans, she has confirmed the latest rumors, about her upcoming one night stand set for Miami, New Year's Eve.

According to the UK based newspaper, the Sun, the actress/singer has revealed her plans for New Year's Eve, she'll be hosting a glitzy party in Miami Beach, Florida.

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly hosting a $200 per plate extravaganza to celebrate the last night of 2005 and will reportedly party until 5am.

Other stars rumored to be spending the night in Miami are Lindsay's ex- boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama and Simple Life star, and former Paris Hilton friend, Nicole Richie.

Ashlee Simpson Collapses in Tokyo

Ashlee Simpson, now infamous for her lip-synching on SNL in 2004, collapsed in Tokyo immediately following a performance, and had to be rushed to the hospital.

The 21 year old singer, and sister of Jessica Simpson, was performing for MTV Japan, a single (Boyfriend) from her latest album, "I Am Me".

After the song's performance, she told the audience that she felt sick, departing with, "I love you guys," and then collapsed in the elevator.

Rob Shuter, Simpson's representative, confirmed the report but would give no further details.

For now, her appearance and performance at the Radio Music Awards on Monday, has been canceled.

Jessica and Nick - No One Cares

The split between Jessica Simpson and former 98 Degrees singer Nick Lechay apparently was not big surprise. What is more surprising though, is that no one really seemed to care.

It is actually refreshing though to see that we are not getting wrapped up in the celebrity lives as much as the media would like us to, despite their greatest efforts to make us think we are entwined or absorbed.

The fact is, that we have become jaded, and maybe even callused, when it comes to the sensationalized lives of celebrities.
