While Hollywood struggled to have a good year at the box office, musical artist continued to rack up sales. No one had a better year than Mariah Carey.
After some blitzing of television appearances and some added exposure, Carey's comeback CD, "The Emancipation of Mimi," sold an impressive 108,000 copies in the last week of 2005, ending the year with nearly 5 million in sales.
Mariah Carey's latest album trailed 50 Cent's album, "The Massacre" for most of the year, but closed the year ahead.
Carey and 50 Cent were trailed on the list of 2005's top sellers by Kelly Clarkson (3.5 million), Green Day (3.4 million), Black Eyed Peas (3 million), Coldplay (2.6 million) and Rascal Flatts (2.5 million).

Who on earth buys this trumped up pain in the backsides music. ?
She thinks she's something special when she is far from it.
Live 8 as an example, "Can I have a drink of water...", this was a charity do and she can go and get her own F*ckin water. If I had actualy been there , She would probably had me done for assault as I would have thrown at her.
Trumped up, Stuck up, Pain in the backside with no manners or talent.
shut up she is better than you...
She is crap! ^^^^^^^
she has worked hard to get where she is and i hope she stays at the top of her game!!
i know people who like her - but not anyone whos actually bought her stuff? who does buy her music? ok she can sing but its all very contrived and has dated very badly.
One things for sure she's the ultimate proof of wether someone has bad taste in music.
